About Live a Greater Life

Who publishes this site, what we cover, and why we are careful about what we claim.

Last updated

Live a Greater Life covers nutrition, metabolic health and the supplements marketed around them. We publish two kinds of thing: guides that explain what the research supports, and reviews of specific products.

Why this site exists

The health supplement market is unusually bad at telling the truth. Products are regulated as food rather than medicine, which means no one verifies that they work before they go on sale. The result is a category where the marketing budget consistently exceeds the research budget, and where the reviews are mostly written by people being paid on commission.

We are also paid on commission. The difference we are trying to make is narrower and more honest than “we are independent”: we state the method, we state where the evidence stops, and we publish the negative findings alongside the positive ones. You can judge whether that holds up by reading the reviews.

What we cover

  • Metabolic health, blood sugar and insulin resistance
  • Weight management and body composition
  • Joint and mobility health
  • Cardiovascular and cholesterol topics
  • The supplements marketed into each of the above

How we work

Every review follows the same process, described in full on our review methodology page. In short: we take each marketing claim, look for human research at a comparable dose, and score the product on evidence, formulation, value and transparency.

We are not clinicians and this site is not medical advice. Where a topic needs a doctor, we say so rather than filling the gap with content.
